Born from a belief that a woman should dress for herself first, and not just a trend, RÚDI MIRO’s Founder Laura learnt through years of travelling for work and play that what she was seeking in fashion, so too were other women.

Drawing on her own personal style and obsession with effortless, classic and feminine design, she set out to create the perfect considered wardrobe; one that truly celebrates the art of versatile dressing.

The foundation of the RÚDI MIRO brand lies in pushing past the fast-fashion mentality and creating powerful, ready-to-wear collections that inspire women to rule their days in outfits that aren’t retrained by a season or time.

UNAPOLOGETICALLY EFFORTLESS. SILHOUETTES THAT LAST BEYOND THE RSVP DATE. STYLE CONTROL THROUGH COLOUR-BLOCKING. THIS IS YOUR FOREVER WARDROBE.

How did it all begin for your brand?

From a young age, I always had a weakness for fashion, especially timeless pieces. Borrowing styles from my mum’s wardrobe that she had saved from the 70s onwards, I didn’t always care for the latest trends.

Over the years, I watched my Nonna and Zia create beautiful pieces and as my lifestyle evolved into a fast-paced work environment, I learnt of the power of something as simple as ‘the perfect blazer’ or a ‘go-to dress’. I thought to myself, there’s something in that; choosing to wear something simply because it makes you feel good, powerful or sexy, no matter how many times you wear it.

The forever wardrobe was inspired by this thought. Creating a collection of pieces that work on your terms, be it busy in the boardroom, travelling or wining and dining. When your wardrobe reflects a sense of control, it can limit the amount of time spent deciding what to wear or shopping for something new, and that is game changing.

Describe yourself and your designs to us?

I have always loved fashion and curating outfits, but most of all, being savvy with the pieces that I introduce into my wardrobe. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a statement piece from time to time, however I have a huge love for effortless dressing. After years working on the marketing side of the fashion industry, I began realising that women had started to lose their own personal style.

Confused by fast-fashion trends, they had no sense of what it was that worked for their bodies or how to shop with consideration. Rudi Miro focuses on pushing past this fast-fashion mentality to create styles that are slow, have flexibility and become the base foundation of a wardrobe. A forever wardrobe for the Rudi Miro woman.

Designed to be worn together or work in with existing pieces, each Rudi Miro style is constructed with luxe fabrication and with the hope to inspire women to make their wardrobes work hard for them.

What creative work has you excited right now?

At the moment, I am working on what will hopefully be a new aspect to the brand. We are in development mode (which is basically me playing around with designs). I love the energy that comes with this part to the job, there are no constraints. You are free to make mistakes, learn and grow. And hopefully at the end of it all, you have a product that you are able to deliver for women to enjoy.

What do you love to do most to recharge or relax?

Travelling is always my first pick to recharge, especially creatively. Discovering new places, looking at architecture and reading about the history, it has a way of rebooting me unlike anything else. Unfortunately, I cannot always travel, so it is simple things like gardening (it is a free form of therapy) sharing a delicious meal with my friends, hanging out with my family or taking a road-trip with my husband are the perfect little doses that I need.

What advice do you have for emerging designers?

Roll up your sleeves, work hard and be patient because delays and set-backs are inevitable and never forget your why. There may be times where you think - ‘this isn’t going to work out’, but make sure you keep deciding to go for it anyway.
